Resources

Mining is the ground floor of the game. The mines dig Iron, Carbon and Hydrogen into your colony's stocks around the clock; the Photovoltaic Array — and later the Fusion Reactor — feeds them Energy, and a colony short of Energy mines slower. Silos and tanks cap what a colony can hold: production halts against a full store.

Raise the mines early and often. Every building, technology and hull downstream is paid out of what they dig — and the ground matters: the tiles within your colony's reach feed its production, so where you found a colony is never indifferent — see the planet layer for how to read the ground.

NameBase costGrowth per levelWhat it does
Iron Mine60 Iron, 15 Carbon×1.5Digs raw metal from the crust — the backbone of every structure and hull.
Carbon Mine48 Iron, 24 Carbon×1.6Grows the crystal every electronic and alloy refinement demands.
Hydrogen Extractor225 Iron, 75 Carbon×1.5Distills deuterium from deep water — fuel for drives and reactors.
Photovoltaic Array75 Iron, 30 Carbon×1.5Feeds the grid from the star; the mines starve without it.
Fusion Reactor900 Iron, 360 Carbon, 180 Hydrogen×1.8Burns deuterium into steady grid power beyond what the star gives.
Iron Silo1,000 Iron×2Buffers the metal flow; production halts against a full yard.
Carbon Silo1,000 Iron, 500 Carbon×2Buffers the crystal flow against the yard's appetite.
Hydrogen Tank1,000 Iron, 1,000 Carbon×2Holds the synthesizer's yield under pressure.

Each figure above is the base: every level costs more by the growth factor beside it, and yields more. Construction times shorten with the Robotics Bay and Nanite Assembler, over on Facilities. Stocks that outgrow the silos can be spent or moved — Fleet hauls them between colonies, and the Merchant trades them against Dark Matter.
